Botox injections

Botox injections aim to prevent the contraction of the muscles responsible for facial expressions, whose atrophy causes the appearance of wrinkles with age, so this procedure is performed for aesthetic purposes for women who want a more youthful appearance, and is most often used to treat horizontal wrinkles in the forehead, sides of the eyes, and mouth.

Botox is one of the toxic substances of nerve cells, and its injection into skin tissue stops the effect of nerve-borne electrical signals to muscle fibers, preventing their shrinkage.

Risks of Botox Injection

Botox injections are associated with some risks, such as what comes:

infection.

bleeding.

Nervous damage outside the area of the facial muscles.

Allergic reactions to Botox or anesthesia.

A doctor's meeting is conducted in agreement with the patient on the area to be treated depending on the quality, thickness and texture of the skin.

Injections are performed under the influence of local anesthesia of the skin by ointment, and may not need anesthesia in some cases, and the patient must also tell the doctor all the medications he takes before performing the procedure.

Dermatologists perform Botox cosmetic surgery, where a thin injection under the skin of the face is inserted into the muscle line, then Botox is injected. A small bleed may occur in the needle insertion area and usually stops in a few minutes, and the procedure usually takes about 10 minutes.

Post-procedure

The patient can leave the clinic for his home immediately after completing Botox injections, and sometimes other sessions are performed depending on the patient's situation.

The patient should avoid scratching the area where Botox was injected, and avoid lying on the injection party, this may cause the spread of Botox to areas outside the facial muscles.

Some painkillers can be taken in case of pain after Botox injections, and some signs of local bleeding and swelling may appear in the injection area, usually disappearing within a few days.
